Burnham Beeches was both my first stop and my last stop on my recent Locations road trip. I had a wander round myself one day, and then was lucky enough to be shown around by one of the Rangers on another day - thank you, Jeremy! Together we worked out exactly what had been filmed where. {happy sighs} This is a good one! A Merlin Location three times over, and each significant in its own way. It gave me a real thrill to visit Ivinghoe Beacon in Buckinghamshire on Monday, and find the spot on the ancient Ridgeway Path where we saw Merlin Himself for the very first time. The Chislehurst Caves are actually man-made chalk and flint mines (not caves!) dating back over 800 years, with separate sections supposedly dug by the Saxons, Druids and Romans.
